Restaurant Day is a worldwide food carnival when anyone can set up a restaurant, café or a bar for a day. It can happen anywhere: at your home, at the office, on a street corner, in your garden or inner courtyard, at a park, or on the beach – only your imagination is the limit.
For the Restaurant Day, next sunday (16th of February) in Milan you can find three temporary restaurants (Food in the Streets-Apple Pie, La Tata Dei Grandi, Syl-Mar’s House) and enjoy this amazing food&eating concept.
As written on the official site, “the real heroes of Restaurant Day are the thousands of fun loving people organizing and visiting amazing one-day restaurants. However, a tight and active group of volunteers is needed to make sure everything runs smoothly in the background. The event is facilitated by an association created by the Restaurant Day team. The members of board are Timo Santala, Kirsti Tuominen, Antti Tuomola and Jyrki Vanamo. Also tightly involved are Tuomas Sarparanta and Kati Tammisto.

Turin in a sunny sunday

Turin (Piazzetta Reale & the Mole Antonelliana) in a sunny sunday

Our contributor Silvia was in Turin last weekend and she reccomends a wonderful initiative: the tethered hot-air balloon rides called Turin Eye!
Turin in recent years has been deeply transformed and renovated thanks to municipality’s big investments and efforts. The Turin Eye in Borgo Dora is one of the best way to enjoy the new vision of the city from above.

the Turin Eye @ Turin the Turin Eye & the view from the Mole Antonelliana @ Turin

Every day, when weather conditions will be good, the air balloon will gain height, rising up to 150 meters in height for about twenty minutes. Citizens and tourists from around the world will be able to (re)discover the city  from an original and unexpected point of view.
The Turin Eye will be also accessible to people with disabilities. In the garden dedicated to the memory of Cardinal Michele Pellegrino it will be possible to find the ballon’s engine, the ticket office and a space dedicated to children’s visit.

I’d like to share with you the birth of a new project by Giulio Iacchetti, called internoitaliano. The project is a new system for the production and sale of furnishing that represents the quality of the Italian Design.  All the pieces of the collection are realized by a network of craftsmen, expression of the best Italian manufacturing quality.

The whole collection shows the double signature of the designer and the artisans and will be on sale online from 9th November at www.internoitaliano.com after its launch at OPERAE, the Self-produced Design Sale Exhibition in Turin (9-10-11th November 2012
Cavallerizza Reale via Verdi 9 – Turin).
On Saturday the 10th of November, Giulio (with Stefano Maffei and Stefano Miceli) will be also present at the conference “Self-production in Italy: perspectives for a creative chain” at the Spazio Incontri Cavallerizza Reale via Verdi 9.

For a very short honey moon, we’ve been to Fattoria di Rignana, amazing farm in the middle of Chianti region. This is a building dates back to the 11th Century, the Estate is surrounded by 120 hectares of vines, woods and olive groves, all immersed in this sensational area of Tuscany. Since 1999 Fattoria di Rignana has been owned and run by Cosimo Gericke and Sveva Rocco di Torrepadula. The location is not far from all the famous Tuscan destinations but at the same time it allows to embrace the feeling of tranquillity and relax.

The Fattoria has seven spacious and well decorated double rooms and offers B&B from April to November. Each room creates a different style and atmosphere, with elegant pieces of furniture and original interior decoration. The breakfast buffet is served in the dining room or in the open-air internal courtyard. In the garden, there’s an amazing infinity pool, located among the olive trees with a wide panorama over the Chianti hills.

Rignana produces also a very good Chianti Classico and a Rosé, we can witness it : )

It’s been a long time that I don’t leave a post on my blog. The point is that in the meantime I got married!! It’s been one of the most special day of my life, definitely. Friends and family are “home” and home is where I feel happy.
