From 4 to 6 April 2014 will take place the international annual event of the European Artistic Crafts Days, under the aegis of the Institut National des Métiers d’Art in Paris. The network of the European cities participating in the event includes Florence, Geneve, London and Milan. In Milan, the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte promotes and organises a rich calendar of events, in collaboration with various partners, dedicated to the theme of the transmission of know-how. In particular, the photography exhibition “TRANSMETTRE. Percorsi di sapere” (TRANSMETTRE. the journey to knowledge) from the 1th to the 13th of April 2014 by Tiziana and Gianni Baldizzone (a Turinese photographer duo who has travelled the world for three years to interpret this subject in 80 evocative and spectacular images) celebrates the theme of the transmission of knowledge. The exhibition takes place at the Pinacoteca di Brera.
Visitors will be also invited to discover where Milan’s master craftsmen work, and where the products of outstanding craftsmanship are selected and promoted. From two weekends (5-6 and 12-13 April) it will be possible to visit the workshops and laboratories of artistic craftsmen in the historical district known as the “Cinque Vie“.

Cologni Foundation, together with the Associazione 5VIE, has prepared a suggestive itinerary that unwinds between corso Magenta, via Santa Marta and the Darsena, through the heart of one of Milan’s historic and culturally relevant districts. During the European Artistic Crafts Days and the Salone del Mobile, the public will have the opportunity to see and learn more about many crafts of excellence, thanks to a map and signs installed along the route.
