Hotel The Exchange is a project made by the dutch design studio Ina & Matt. The hotel has 61 rooms, ranging from 1 to 5 stars. Each room has been designed and dressed by graduates and alumni of the Amsterdam Fashion Institute (AMFI).
Hotel The Exchange is a concept by Suzanne Oxenaar and Otto Nan, initiators of the Lloyd Hotel & Cultural Embassy, and is part of ‘The Red Carpet”, an urban-renewal project that is aimed at giving the Damrak (one of the city’s liveliest and oldest streets, where the hotel is located, also known as the Red Carpet of Amsterdam) a more diverse and fashionable look.

A portuguese friend’s shown me The Independente and now I look forward to go in Portugal to have a look. It’s a hostel in Lisbon in a restored palace between Bairro Alto and Príncipe Real.
TedxEdges says:
“The sharing of ideas, stories and emotions happens between tourists and locals alike, be it in its open-for-all restaurant, The Decadente, in the more secluded beer garden, or in the lounge of any of the dorms available, with a concern for the environment and all things sustainable throughout.”
The Independente has 111 beds spreads across 13 dorms + 4 suites with private balconies. I didn’t find a lot of info on the web. But the images tell about a lovely “temporary home” in a wonderful city! Isn’t it?
