Next thursday may 12, from 19.30, “aperitivo” at Lago Appartamento for the first date of MADE.SIGN.

MADE.SIGN is a project born from the idea of three Design students of NABA (Andrea, Erika and Mirco), which aims to provide space to young designers and their projects, to create new collaborations and to unite in a single space enthusiasts of Design. The project includes seven theme nights, during which many icons of Italian design will be compared with the young selected projects. During the first evening (next 12 may), whose theme is portability, there will be exposed my 24Ore and, obviously, I will be there!

You can’t miss it! : )

Tomorrow i’ll be in Brussel : )
For the Fragile Conference at the Sint Lucas University, i’m going to present a speech showing some case studies from my research (PixelHotel + Town@HouseStreet Hotel + Esterni Designer’s House & Bedsharing + The Hub + Lago Appartamento).
It seems that i’ll present two times, April 6 in the morning at Sint Lucas Brussels and April 7 in the afternoon at Sint Lucas Ghent… How exciting!

LAGO APPARTAMENTO A living showroom, Corraini Edition

I’m reading the book “LAGO APPARTAMENTO A living showroom” by Brit Leissler and Diego Paccagnella, Corraini edition. Of course the book tell about the experience of the Appartamento Lago, born during the Salone del Mobile 2009. The furniture company presented itself in a completely furnished apartment, rent on this occasion, with company staff living in it for the whole duration of the show.
“Appartamento Lago featured thirteen people sharing kitchen, shower and wardrobes, but also sharing their days with everybody who rang the bell and dropped in. Of course, all furniture featured Lago products, creating thus an authentic and surprising fusion of an everyday space, a public place, a gallery and a showroom.”

The book presents the first edition of the project Lago Appartamento and at the same time it introduces its natural continuation with the next experiences in Milan and Venice. It describes a slice of life and the discovery of a living space or, in other words, the aim of suggesting a new way of joining the public with design.

From the book:

“We wanted the Appartamento to look exactly like a normal apartment, internally and externally. [...] One of the most important aspects of the project was definitely the live aspect. So since the beginning we were always thinking of how we could inject into the Appartamento a heavy dose of real life. We didn’t want to go to excess and make the float too crowded, but just the right infusion of “real” elements would make the whole place far more pleasant.
[...] Sharing the space would not only provide the opportunity for numerous “real” moments, but would also create the perfect environment for spontaneous, inspirational design conversations and experiences – this being the whole idea behind the Appartamento Project and, indeed of the Lago product philosophy.
